I was starting to wonder if the Pumpkins reuniting was actually going to happen and then I stumbled onto this little gem.  The Smashing Pumpkins website which for a few years now has been redirected to Billy Corgan’s website, has been updated with an offical statement and the classic “SP” symbol that we’ve all grown to love. 

 

It’s official, The Smashing Pumpkins are currently writing songs for their upcoming album, their first since 2000. No release date has yet been set, but the band plans to begin recording this summer.

 

 It may not be much, but it’s a start.  Now the question is , what members besides Billy and Jimmy will be back for this round?  Not that it really matters…it’s all about B & J anyways.
